SilverWorks was happy to introduce the new Jewelry Expressions: Stamping workshop instructed by Alan Darby.
Opening night. Pretty much packed the place for most of the evening.
If it takes a village to raise a child it also takes one to mount an exhibition.
Glen Echo Park is said to be haunted, and now my studio can brag that the ghosts want to play in my space not just the ballroom or carousel!
Catamaran finally lands. This one had to be taken apart and reassembled twice to get the composition right.
Tonight was the opening for Alan’s show of fantastice boxes, spoons and jewelry.
Senorita starts to take shape. I taped the wires together to make the design then soldered them in sections.
Holst gets some color. The vote was about 50/50 leaving it white silver vrs the risky rainbow patina.
I like the patina.
Vivaldi’s “Summer”, inspired this piece in process. Lapis and Moonstones.

“The Garden”. Two pieces in two days. I’m beginning to roll.
A piece called Catamaran from a song Bryan wrote years and years ago. The music make me see squares. The title makes me think of the ocean.
Not in the studio today but left this on the block to bring me back on wednesday.
Multiple piece in play at the moment. I have to make a decision about the snarky puppy piece. To oxidize or not to oxidize it.
I initially came into the studio in the morning in an inspired mood and ready to get to work.
“Here Comes The Sun”, revealed this design at :52 seconds into the song.
Another interruption for show work was less of an interruption and more of an honor.
A happy interruption was creating more of these for the National Arboretum.

Beading basics was the theme of the All Day Beading Workshop. I was lucky enough to sit in on Ruth’s new class that was held in SW Studio 2.
We had a fantastic day here in Nassau giving our first international workshop for Exnihilo.
Imagine packing up a silversmithing studio and hauling it to another country. That is one of the things that occupied my time this week.
People often wander into Glen Echo Park for the first time and exclaim, “Wow, all this time and I didn’t know this was here”.
