While honing some of the basic skills in silversmithing Sam’s design sense began to emerge. Often employing a fearless use of texture much of Sam’s work incorporates unusually shaped and hard to set stones always maintaining a sense of balance.

Continuing as a guest resident (Exnihilo Artist residency at SilverWorks), Louis continued to expand the boundaries of smithing exploring more techniques and creating more concept works like “Dilate.”
